Centro de Arte Curaumilla, a privately owned Country House located on a cliff side by the ocean and 25 minutes from Valparaíso, offers authors to stay for a period from 2 to 3 weeks, in accordance to the authors need and to the specific project to be developed, enabling them to write in a calm, peaceful and exceptional location, to have an interesting exchange with the other authors working in the Residency, and to meet people interested to know them and their workin a closer manner.
It is open to all types of literature (novels, short stories, poetry, theatre, essays, BD, children’s stories, etc).
Curaumilla Art Center will be open to authors who have already had one or more works published by a professional editor including collective works, books issued from the university research (theses, and scientific works, etc) didactic and scholar books.
Curaumilla Art Center could host 8 writers simultaneously. Each of the writers will be hosted in a double room with exclusive personal bathroom. All our rooms are finely decorated, furbished, and inspiring. The Center also offers an internal dinning room and a lovely sittingroom with a fireplace for conversations wiyh abeautiful view over the ocean.
Curaumilla Art Center will provide resident writers with accommodation. Meals can be provided by the center.
Travel expenses, and any other personal expenses will be at the writer’s charge.

Duration of residency

The opportunity includes housing. Curaumilla arts Center has apartments in residence in the same building, included in the cost.
Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
Published writers, with a consolidated history, and apprentices can send their application.
Studio / Workspace
The Double bedroom assigned to each writer is adequate to workasa studio. PC is not provided, and the artist is required to bring her/his own equipment.

Expectations towards the artist
The artist is kindly asked for a session with a public,to talk about her/his work.All details to be arranged with the author upfront,and respecting her/his will.
