An Open Call for artists of all disciplines for a 2 week residency at The Narrows in the interior of British Columbia. Travel by boat to remote studio and residence to immerse yourself fully in your work. The Artist in Residence program at The Narrows is a self directed program, aiming to support artists who need time and space to work. The art retreat is nestled among cottonwood, cedar trees and ponderosa pines. Travel to the remote studio is by boat. Renew your creativity and immerse yourself in your practice away from distractions of daily life. The centre has a straw bale residence, separate studio and also includes a yurt on the property as studio or living space. It is built by artists who wanted to provide an inspirational space and setting to support the creative community. The beauty of the Selkirk mountains, Kootenay Lake and the diverse wildlife, provide endless inspiration to infuse daily creativity.

Our objective is to provide a live/work space and time for artists, in multi disciplines, to strengthen their practice and deeply engage in their work while there. People looking to escape must consider whether or not this is the right environment for them. Transport to and from the retreat is by motor boat. Supplies are delivered on a weekly or as needed basis, by boat. For fees, please visit http://www.thenarrowsbc.com/residencies-retreats
