Due to a cancellation OBRAS-Holland still has place for a residency in May and June 2020. OBRAS-Holland has a mansion in a green village for one or two artists.
OBRAS-Holland offers (emerging) professional artists an inspiring residency in a spacious, free-standing mansion surrounded by a garden, in which one or two artists live and work largely on their own. It is located at the edge of a pleasant village surrounded by nature, with good connections to bigger cities. Several museums and other cultural highlights are in the direct surroundings (doable with an easy bike ride). The house is especially suited for visual arts and desk work.
May and June are the months of pleasant temperatures and lush nature: good for working outside, biking and hiking.
The local hostess gives support when needed and can organize contact with local artists. But first of all it is largely a help-your-self place.
OBRAS Holland is an auxiliary establishment of OBRAS-Portugal.
