Come and spend some time developing your practice amongst the Takt community in Berlin.
Description of residency program and duration of residency
The residency is a 3-month programme (shorter periods are possible upon request) comprising of; weekly group critiques with our resident curator, regular artist talks, life drawing classes, artist studio visits, gallery visits and German language classes. All participating Takt residency artists take part in a quarterly group exhibition at the end of their stay (in March, June, September and December).
Alongside the residency program, there is also time for artists to pursue their own work and explore ideas independently. Takt also runs a unique one-to-one mentoring scheme with established Berlin-based artists and writers as an optional add-on to the residency programme.
The residency is primarily an English-speaking environment with all talks, critiques and activities conducted in English.
Alongside the programme, Takt organises cultural & social events such as movie nights in the gallery, group pot-luck dinners and keeps you up-dated about interesting exhibitions and art openings in Berlin.
We offer a selection of live/work studios in shared apartments in Prenzlauer Berg. The sizes of the studios range from 12 – 55 meters squared.
The live/work studios are private, but are set within shared apartments. Kitchens, bathrooms and other communial areas are shared with other artists on the residency.
