Kinitiras, member of Res Artis, created the first residency centre for performing arts in Greece in December 2008. Until August 2019, it hosted numerous artists throughout the world from the fields of dance, theatre and performance. Inside its small premises located underneath Akropolis, Kinitiras became a creative hub while at the same time it opened the pathway for the idea of residency centre in Greece.
It is now time for us to move on and create another flexible model of residency that will connect artists from Greece and the rest of the world without Kinitiras’ having a permanent base.
We invite artists from Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Germany, France and Greece specialized in community dance and theatre to apply for this shared residency. They will work with performers, professionals and amateurs, from Kinitiras’ network.
This year’s thematic umbrella for all Kinitiras’ actions is the idea of TRANSITION.
Selected artists have to be available from March 5th 2020 until April 5th 2020 (the exact 20 days between those dates will be announced soon) and they will stay all together at a place provided by Kinitiras. Apart from accommodation, Kinitiras covers travel and per diem expenses.
The above conditions apply to artists staying in Greece as well.
The results of the residency will be presented at IPFF 2020.
