Studio / Workspace
The studios are located in a XIX century building, in the city centre of Rio de Janeiro. Some of them are occupied permanently by local artists as part of our goal to establish a dynamic and supportive working environment. A studio with approximately 25m² is reserved for each participant of Despina Residency Programme. The studios are open to the public during exhibition openings and events. Artists and curators have plenty of autonomy to organize their spaces individually, propose workshops, talks and exhibition projects. Although independent, all studios are open plan, allowing interaction and stimulating dialogue between artists and across cultures.
