We warmly invite all musicians, sound artists, sound engineers and artists from other disciplines that wish to develop a project specifically related to sound to participate in Activosonico-Experimental Sound Residencies, a program carried out by AADK Spain, with a focus on the relationship of sound and territory.
Activosonico residencies will take part in Centro Negra, the current headquarters of AADK Spain located in the town of Blanca, Murcia. They have been conceived to offer time and space for analysis and artistic research linked to music and sound, encouraging reflection upon the historical, cultural and geographical context of the region.
For those applicants interested in working with the community of Blanca, please bear in mind that projects of less than two months will not be accepted. The ability of artists to establish respectful relationships with the inhabitants and to be willing to engage in trial-error processes will be fundamental for these proposals.
Duration of residency
The residency program runs by a monthly calendar, starting at the 1st of every month. The residents are invited to stay from 1 up to 6 months.

Studio / Workspace
Centro Negra is the main building of AADK Spain. It serves both as working area and exhibition space.
Made up of 6 different and interconnected studios, each of them unique in its size and morphology, the building constitutes a set of great versatility and is capable of adapting to multiple purposes.
It is located on the slope of a mountain, being reachable only by foot.
Fees and support
Fees for an individual artist can go from 650€-900€ per month, depending on the selected accommodation. There are additional fees for collective projects, colaborators and visitors.
Expectations towards the artist
Throughout their stay, participants create a temporary community that shares experiences and processes, fostering debate and a transversal perspective of their projects. AADK Spain facilitates a public presentation of the artist’s work/process which can manifest as an exhibition, concert or release of a podcast, depending on the project.
Artists in residence are warmly invited to take part in other of our activities throughout their stay. We respect all kind of creative processes. However, keep in mind that given the morphology of the building, closed workspaces are not always possible.
