Cultural Centre Vanha Paukku is an art and culture centre located in Lapua, Finland. We welcome artists from all disciplines to join our residency.

Our artist residency program offers two apartments about 400 meters from the Cultural Center Vanha Paukku. We have one smaller apartment and a bigger duplex apartment. The smaller apartment has one room with a double bed, toilet, kitchen and a sauna with shower. The bigger apartment has one bedroom with a double bed and a living room also equipped with a double bed, kitchen, toilet and shower. We prefer to house families and groups in the bigger apartment.

Both apartments have a sofa, sofa chairs, a table, chairs, a cupboard or drawer, washing machine and all needed kitchen utensils. We also provide our artist with bed linen, sheets, towels and cleaning equipment. Pets are welcome at our residency.

The workspace is located at the Cultural Center in the Creative Community’s Studio. Our artists have 24h access to the studio. We can also arrange dance studio or theatre space if needed.

 

INTERNET ACCESS:

We have an internet connection (WiFi) at both; the apartments and the studio space.

 

WHAT THE ARTIST SHOULD BRING?

Their own toiletries, specific cooking stuff they can’t live without. All necessary studio tools and supplies. If special tools are needed or difficult to bring, there are art stores cities nearby.

Description of Organisation:

Cultural Centre Vanha Paukku is a centre for culture and entrepreneurship unique both by its surroundings as well by its history. The centre, located next to the Lapuanjoki river, is made up of old factory buildings, has several galleries and museums, the town library, shops and offices as well as a cafeteria, a movie theatre, the Music Institute and the Adult Education Centre. All functioning within the premises. During the summer there is also a river boat that takes its passengers on a cruise through the history and the surroundings of the area.
