Talking Tree Ranch

We are a small artist-owned and run, private, rural ranch in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California. We have been operating quietly for two seasons hosting artists in the mediums of: creative writing, nonfiction and poetry, music recording and composition, photography, filmmaking, digital arts including coding/computer art and light visual arts. We offer accommodations for 1-3 artists at at time in a house with shared kitchen, and are working on two tiny houses for additional accommodations. Residencies are from one to three weeks and held year round.

Residency Programme since: 2015
Description of Organisation:

We want to provide a quiet, focused environment for artists to explore their projects without interruption of the outside world. To this end, the residency is remote physically with beautiful outdoor spaces that are usable throughout the year. Summers can be warm 90-100+ degrees though there are many places to cool down. The house is air-conditioned and comfortable with modern conveniences. We seek to provide a welcoming, friendly environment when you wish for company, and plenty of solitude when that is your preference.

As composers/musicians and media/visual artists we have been inspired by our time at European residencies that we found through ResArtis and seek to bring this experience to the States.
