StudionAme currently run 2 different residency programmes. One is the Toru Namekawa residency which is usually 1-2 awards per annum, open to Leicester based artists. The residencies come with a stipend of around ?Ð600 a studio for 3 months and a solo show at Studionames Gajiko project space. We also supply critical support and a marketing budget.

The second residency is the international exchange progamme, comprising 2 awards per annum, open to Leicester related artists/researchers (depends on year) for Japanese organisations, open to artists in Japan to come to Leicester.

Artists apply in Japan and shortlisted by our partners before we make the final selection . Recipients receive accommodation, a studio with us, access to Demontfort University Faculty of Arts facilities, a stipend, solo show and depending on the organisation, return flights. Artists are expected to provide 2 artist talks for students at DMU and for public at the Attenborough Arts Centre.
