Sachaqa Centro De Arte

Artists have the opportunity to spend time in the studio, surrounded by nature and away from all distractions. A unique residency that facilitates a deeply creative and healing process.  Learn artisan crafts from the neighboring Kechwa Lamista and Chazutino indigenous communities – how to make paper, traditional ceramics, plant pigments and more.

Artist residency programs: painting | ceramics | sculpture trail  | photography | audiovisual | writers retreat

Some of the creative activity programs we offer:
Painting Program: found pigments – rocks and earth, plant pigments and ecological paper.
Sculpture Trail: On route to the lookout point of conservation area Cordillera Escalera.
Ceramics Program: learn directly from indigenous artisans of the Chazutino and Kechwa Lamista communities.
Photography Program: Portraits – Journey to the indigenous Kechwa village of Aviacion.  Create a documentary realistic style portfolio.  Night shots – Long exposure and night exploration.  Nature photography – In the national park Cordillera Escalera. With local photographer – IG: @jqbonicelli_photo.

Periodically we conduct cultural art events. In partnership with various organizations and local institutions. Thus creating a cultural platform, which is shared and lived by merging creativity styles – in all its expressions.

We also offer individual or group exhibitions for our residents. Typically near the end of their stay. These events can be arranged in one of a number of small venues in Tarapoto.
