Name of Residency: PETRA AiR

Taste the flavor of early 20th century modest family life in an oriental Mediterranean city and enjoy the picturesque view from your windows. Sited on top of the main market place of Kavala, the house has the living atmosphere of that time and the small shops near the market have not changed much since the old times. Situated in the second largest city of North Greece, PETRA AiR is an artist-owned residency welcoming painters, photographers, musicians, writers, researchers, etc. The guests enjoy the unique atmosphere of a city of rich history dating back to several millennia BC. Even a glimpse through the residency?s windows reveals an inspiring view containing some of the city?s historical landmarks: the fortress built by the Genoese on the top of the old town, the aqueduct from the times of Suleiman the Magnificent and the Old town itself surrounded by the sea.

The house is a traditional two-story old house (63 sq m) situated in a walking distance both to the Town Hall – 10 min., and Municipal Market (&Delta&Eta&Mu&Omicron&Tau&Iota&Kappa&Iota &Alpha&Gamma&Omicron&Rho&Alpha) – 5 min., an area of many shops. The port and the Old Town are also near. The house can accommodate four people but it is best for up to two artists.

Since we are not supported by any institution/foundation, we have to charge the artists-in-residence a fee. They could apply for various terms of stay from one week to several months.
