Name of Residency: Palette People Artists Residency.

Palette People Artists Residency Programme is open to all from all creative fields like visual artists ,painters,sculptors,writers,musicians, theatre and film personalities,photographers, performers etc. of all nationalities and others connected with art.

The residency is in a remote location in Vagamon an upcoming hill station in the western ghats of Kerala which is considered to be the hottest hot spot of Biodiversity.(105 kms from Kochi),

We have 2 cottages with 5 rooms and a dormitory  . In addition to this we have a studio space of 1200 sq ft .We have got a large area of open space also ( rolling meadows and tree covered area of 80 acres.)

Service of a care taker / cook and helper is available.

We have an in- house kitchen facility and the service of the cook and helper is available from 7 am to 9 pm free of cost.

Programme Period : Round the year

Duration : 10 days to 3 months( Can be extended on request on a case to case basis)

FEES: USD.15/ Indian Rs.1000 ) per day

( The fee cover studio space and accommodation (individual bath attached room with hot water facility) with separate cot , bed, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, toiletries)

(USD 27 / Indian Rs.1750 for two artists/partners together)

Food charges wil lbe extra.We have an excellent cook for preparing food for the artists.We serve ethnic kerala cuisine.

Accommodation : Single / double occupancy in a bath attached room with hot water facility).

If the artists have sufficent works to be displayed, they can do an exhibition in The Art Corridor gallery in Hotel Le meridien, Kochi.This is not mandatory.

About the location.

Vagamon,a virgin hill scape in Idukki Dist in Kerala ,1100 mts above sea level, is one of the most scenic Greenfield hill stations in India with moderate winter, monsoon and salubrious climate round the year.This is located in the Western Ghats along the west coast of India which has been included on the coveted list of the World Heritage Sites, at a meeting of the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO). It is recognised as one of the world?s eight “hottest hotspots” of biological diversity.

The room temperature does not usually rise above 25 degree C even during the hottest season.This hill station is a trekkers delight surrounded by meadows, valleys and tea gardens.

Rolling meadows are speciality of Vagamon. It is reported that 24 species of grass grow in these meadows.This is a haven for small wild animals, butterflies and other rare flora and fauna.

Other activities ( Paid).

Trekking bird watching, fishing, cycling, taking part in organic farming, butterfly watching, star watching during nights,participating in cooking sessions etc ( all on request). We encourage Yoga and Meditation for the residents.

Palette People International Art Foundation is a registered charitable organisation functioning in the state of Kerala in India.We started our activities in 1991, initially formed as an organisation to promote and support artists . We have been conductiong exhibitions, camps, seminars and talks for the artists and supporting them financially in all aspects.
