Nordisk kunstnarsenter Dale (NKD) is an independent foundation concentrating exclusively on long-term residencies, workshops and projects. It is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and has five fully equipped residencies of various sizes. Residency is offered to visual artists, architects, designers and curators. The centers facilities include wireless internet access, a common/shared workshop, a machinery hall for woodwork, a darkroom and a special ventilated room for painting, etc. The workshop is also furnished with welding equipment and facilities for printmaking.
Nordisk kunstnarsenter Dale (NKD) is an Artist-in-Residence center funded by Norwegian Ministry Of Culture. Nordic Artists Centre Dalsåsen is situated in the village of Dale, the administrative center of the Fjaler municipality on the West Coast of Norway.
NKD is a foundation inspired by the vision of Oddleif Fagerheim and his wife Thora Nitter Fagerheim, who donated their house and land to the Nordic Council of Ministers in 1976.
Nordisk kunstnarsenter Dalsåsen was officially opened in May 1998. The Municipality of Fjaler, the County of Sogn & Fjordane and the Norwegian Government funded the project of establishing the NKD
