Loire Valley Inspiration Residency and Gallery

The Loire Valley Inspiration Residency and Gallery is situated on the banks of the Loire river in central France in the picturesque village of Brehemont, which is at the very heart of the Loire Valley castle country.

Originally the town’s butcher shop with living quarters above and storage behind in a large warehouse, the oldest part of the building dates back to the 16th century.

Renovation began on the building in 2014 and the complex now consists of three separate self-catering apartments, that can sleep up to 10 people, on three levels with a large shared workshop/exhibition space on the ground floor.

The workshop/exhibition space is accessible from both the interior and the street.

Residency programs run from 1-6 months from 1st October to 31st March.

Each apartment is fully equipped with sheets, towels and wireless internet. The workshop is a flexible shared space that has work tables, easels and a sink.

Artists will be responsible for paying for their travel, housing, art supplies and food. Louise and Porter provide logistics from time to time for grocery and art supply shopping, etc.

Surrounded by castles, sunflowers and vineyards, the Loire Valley residency program offers painters, photographers, writers and other artists the opportunity to create work in an exceptional environment and to display their work,if suitable, towards the end of their stay through a public exhibition.
