LKV has 2 studios and 4 small apartments for guest artists. The studios are 4,2 x 6 m, height to ceiling is 3,8 m. Studio and apartment are free of charge for the guests. There are no grants or reimbursements. Artists can apply for a residency of 1 or 2 months. Since 2019 LKV has two apartments for interdisciplinary artists, these apartments do not have a studio, but rather other options depending on the field of the artists.

Application deadline is June 1st every other year. A group of 3 professional artists from Trondheim (1 of them from LKV), plus the manager of Babel, selects the 12 – 16 artists to be invited each year. You will find more information on how to apply on our website: www.lkv.no

All guest artists may apply to have an exhibition at Babel. The gallery is located 200 m away from LKV and is approximately 100 sq m. It is also possible to arrange smaller events in collaboration with Lena Katrine Sokki, the project manager at Babel.
Since 1996, LKV has received approximately 200 artists from 35 different countries working in our residency. See the complete list of artists at our website.

Next deadline is March 1st 2020, where you can apply for 2021 and 2022

Residency Programme since: 1996
Description of Organisation:

LKV was established in 1993 when a group of artists in close co-operation with the local government (city of Trondheim) decided to turn a former school-building into a house full of studios and workshops for artists. From the start it has been the artists in the house who have been responsible for the development.

There are approximately 38 professional visual artists working in their own studios at LKV, and we have facilities for working with wood, metal, printing (silkscreen, etching, litography) and photography (analogue).

There is a strong community feeling in the house, and all LKV artists are expected to contribute to the development of LKV. LKV runs various courses for artists, we also arrange art projects and exhibitions. Since 2006, LKV also has a gallery: Babel (www.babelkunst.no).

LKV is organized as an independent foundation. We receive financial support from the Municipality of Trondheim and Sør-Trøndelag County.
