The Knstlerhaus Boswil (Artists House Boswil) is a place of music and dedicates its activities (master concert cycle, summer festival, academy programme, youth orchestras, contemporary music ensemble) mainly to classical music. While there is no official open call residency program, the foundation regularly invites performing musicians/composers or makes residencies possible if they fit within the annual program of the music centre.
The Knstlerhaus Boswil (Artists House Boswil), situated half an hour to the south-west of Zurich, bears a legendary name in Switzerland and beyond its borders. The legend is based on the unusual character and circumstances of the place. The now private foundation owns a former parish church and parish house as well as additional buildings. The institution focusses on classical and contemporary music, including a master concert cycle with the world&rsquos leading classical performers, an ambitious classical music summer festival, an educational academy programme, two youth orchestras and a contemporary music ensemble. At the heart of all these activities lies the vision of a place of music as a place of national and international cultural exchange, a music venue to serve for concerts and reflection and as a creative laboratory.
