Name of Residency: Kintai Arts Residency

The Kintai Arts Residence is an international residency programme for artists located in Kintai (Silute municipality, Lithuania).

It is an artistic initiative in a rural location which provides a forum for all artistic branches and interdisciplinary work, encouraging encounters with contemporary art forms outside of urban cultural centers. Interaction and intervention between art and the local community as well as the environment where it is practiced at Kintai Arts is a significant aspect of project development process.

Kintai Arts Residence seeks creating an environment for inspiration & a place for artists where they could concentrate on their work as well as creative experiments. The Residence strives for becoming a center for establishing close cooperation between artists, musicians, thinkers, and professionals from other cultural fields through interdisciplinary programmes and residencies. As a knowledge-based platform for innovative creative production, Kintai Arts Residence integrates the social and cultural framework of Klaipeda region while simultaneously supporting a strong international focus.

The Residence is an independent non-profit art project supported by the community of Kintai, the public organization Kintai Arts and Pomeranian Association of Arts and Sports. The name Kintai Arts is derived from the town name Kintai where the Residence has been established. The residency programme started in 2018.

One to three-month-long residencies are available between May and October every year. Shorter stays and “Artists on Tour” plans are available by special arrangement.
