The International Writers?? and Artists?? Residency offers residencies of one to six weeks to artists, poets, fiction writers and creative nonfiction writers in Val David, Canada, 50 miles north of Montreal. Residents are provided with a private room and work space. The residency fee ranges from $200 Canadian (approximately $185) for one week??s lodging with a shared bathroom to $1,300 Canadian (approximately $1,200) for six weeks in a private apartment. Residents are responsible for their own food and transportation. Discounts are available for students and seniors. Residency applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Financial aid is available through the Jean Taranu Bursary, which covers half the fee for a month long residency. To apply for a bursary for an April/ May or October/ November residency, submit a 10-page work sample, a curriculum vitae, a project description, and two letters of reference by February 15 or July 1.
