Name of Residency: Incheon Art Platform

As a multiplex cultural arts center, Incheon Art Platform (IAP) is based on residency program. It hosts exhibitions, various performances (including music, dance, play and so on) all over the year and runs various events and educational programs for general public. By supporting resident artists covering various genres, IAP aims to become the incubator for new arts creation and a core of contemporary art.
All resident artists selected every end of year and stay here on average one year (Korean Artists)/ three months (International Artists). IAP regularly runs residencies program which is the basic form of the residency comprise artist-in-residence, exhibitions and public events. IAP seeks to create opportunities for artists to further the practice and philosophy of their work by meeting fellow artists and to develop their ideas with local characteristics.

Description of Organisation:

Incheon Art Platform (IAP) is a cultural and artistic complex built in Haean-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon as part of a project named Revitalization Project of Old City Center in Incheon. Buildings constructed during the period of port-opening were renovated into IAP whose purpose is to bring out active conversation between various artistic activities to create synergy effect and to make a contribution to the development of culture and arts.
IAP runs Artists-in-Residency program that promotes artists and supports to provide artists with comfortable and stable space of creation, living and research for a certain period. IAP supports creation work of artists with various backgrounds such as visual arts, performing arts, and curators, producer to play the role of an incubator of new art.
As a space that intermediates cultural arts, IAP that embraces all the process of artistic creation such as creation, distribution, and appreciation will support international exchange of cultural art and vitalize the area.
