How to reach by plane: From Bangkok International Airport (Suvarnabhumi), you can arrive in Koh Samui directly by plane with Bangkok Airlines, and any taxi there will take you to the Big Buddha pier, from which there are many ferries that will take you in 30 minutes to the island of Koh Phangan. An alternative cheaper option would be arriving in Bangkok International airport (Suvarnabhumi) and take the shuttle train to the Domestic airport (Don Muang) (calculate at least 1 hour for this connection, plus another long hour to do the check in, as it is a busy airport). A flight from Bangkok Don Muang to Surat Thani Airport can be as low as 25&euro (plus luggage), but you need to arrive in Surat Thani before 3.30pm, as 4pm leaves the last bus-ferry combination that will take you to Koh Phangan (at Raja Ferry desk, inside the airport). So you need to arrive early in Bangkok and get a flight to Don Muang not later than 2pm to make it in the same day to Surat Thani. You can also get a night train from Bangkok train station to Surat Thani train station (about 15&euro), where you will also be able to buy also a bus-ferry combo that would take you to Koh Phangan. Arriving in Surat Thani at 6am or 7am would be the best option, as there is a bus-ferry combo that leaves the train station at 8am, towards the islands.Train schedule Bangkok train station to Surat Thani:
