We have opportunities now for a CREATIVE EXCHANGE GATHERING at the begining of November, where we will invite different individuals from different creative amd holistic disciplines and backgrounds for a week of collaboration and exchange to reflect on your work, inspire each other and form opportunities for collaborations and connection. In this way, we think, creativity and ideas can manifest themselves and inspiration thrive. This will be done in workshop form as well as through conversations and by sharing time and spaces.
Please contact us by 10th October if you&rsquod like to take part.
We also have opportunities for self-directed residencies.
This would suit artists looking for a deep experience in the magical irish countryside.
The time at the Octopus’s Garden will give you an opportunity to focus on completely immersing yourself in the natural environment and the encounter with oneself. Many people have described their time here as a “Retreat time”, an intense time to find / hear their inner voice and a time that brought a lot of new ways of looking at things new questions, perspectives and ideas.
We can offer you your own hut with fireplace, access to two bright studio spaces (one smaller – heated , one big – unheated) and access to cooking facilities and composting toilet.
We are interested in artists from different art forms, filmmakers are particularly welcome, as well as writers and philosophers.
The Octopus’s Garden – House of Encounters was started by Jimmy (Irish) and Franzi (German), who met in 2008 and decided they wanted to create an alternative way of life that was based on authenticity, creativity and connection.
The intention was to create a space where people can encounter their deeper selves by asking meaningful questions, being confronted with the isolation and wild nature in the wild west of Ireland and to get inspired to create and move forward.
