The residency process starts with the selection of artists, curators, writers, resrachers and theoreticians, after their official application to the programme.
halka art project is located in Moda district of Kadıköy / İstanbul. The residency period depends upon the requests of the project and possibilities from 3 weeks to 3 months. The aim of the Programme is to provide a centre of concentration, collaboration and/or retreat for the artists, curators, writers and theoreticians from various disciplines in order to create and develop their projects.
The programme supports guest artists in creating an artistic project or reseach in every step from artist assitance to curatorial support, from advertising to hosting events. Finding connections from local and international circles, sharing ideas and exchanging experiences are considered very valuable. halka art project stands for the free circulation of artists around the world.
The Residency Programme targets to be more than an import or export of culture, and is willing to operate as a facilitator and a project partner in the artistic realm. It is widely open to collaborations, development of projects in the curatorial sense of its residents. halka organizes exhibitions, open talks, artist meetings, workshops, studio activities and presentations with its guest artists.
