For the Sake of Being(s) residency is located in South Savonia, in the municipality of Enonkoski, next to the Kolovesi national park, in a former village school of Ihamaniemi. The surrounding of the two-floor wooden building is a Finnish rural landscape, with lakes and forests all around.
We offer two three month residency periods per year (from March to May, and from September to November) and the residency is open for artists of various fields, also writes and researchers.
The residency includes three bedrooms of various sizes, and two large separate studios, which are suitable especially for both dance and performance artists, and for visual artists as well.
We provide inspiring surroundings and a meeting point for people to encounter each other and to develop their creative practice. We’re connected to local farmers, have a little garden and provide quality organic ingredients for your guests.
For the Sake of Being(s) is a social enterprise and the three points of focus of our activities are art, education and wellbeing. We operate to promote and develop a healthy relationship towards ourselves, our body and mind, and to the nature as a holistic interconnected system and source of all life. In Olo-center, of which the residency is a part of, we organise workshops and events on topics such as art, ecology, self-development, wild food, permaculture, etc.
