´ace is an independent, non-profit, artist-run residency center for the visual arts located in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital city.
Its main MISSION is to promote contemporary artistic practices that involve printmaking, photography, design and new media, exploring their mutual interfaces as well as the capacity of multiple through research and production residencies. ´ace‘s residencies support contemporary visual art practices and trans-disciplinary projects (including performance, music and curatorial proposals) promoting EXCHANGE, DEBATE, EXPERIMENTATION and COLLABORATIVE WORK.
An inspiring place for creativity –unique in its kind in South America– that achieves to unite artists from all around the world and to shorten the distance between old and new technologies and between different artistic genres.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF RESIDENCIES:
We are offering residencies of 4 WEEKS for 2019 and 2020, as well as 1 week micro-residencies. See the NEW SLOTS HERE.
From 2005, the Artist in Residence International Program is Fundación´ace‘s core program, and the starting point for many of our activities and projects.
To be in residence at ´ace means to work collaboratively, to receive technical and artistic assistance, to share the space and processes with fellow artists from other parts of the world and to be immersed in Buenos Aires’ vibrant cultural life. While in residence, the artists will benefit from an intense production time enhanced by the exchange of ideas and experiences with peers coming from a wide range of mediums and languages.
Proyecto´ace‘s GUIDELINES AND FEES HERE.
Proyecto´ace holds four open calls a year, and artists-in-residence are selected by their submitted proposals. ´ace pays special attention to those projects questioning the singularity of the art object and the existence of the art object itself by using the reproducible capacity of traditional and/or experimental printmaking techniques, photography, new media and/or design, exploring their mutual interference and hybridisations—as well as those proposals that attempt to make interventions in the urban environment or that are thought to have an impact on the local community.
