C&E Residence program is a trans-disciplinary laboratory for artists: The idea is to provide time and space for creative work in a stimulating environment.

Our Artist-in-Residence program is open to artists and thinkers from all disciplines, individually or in groups. We support the creation of new works, researches , as well as collaborations between Bulgarian and international artists.

Every year between 15 of April till 30 October we offer hosting in studios in our summer house, near Danube river, in Shtraklevo village, Ruse District. Summer Residence Program is suitable for projects, which require concentration, calm and solitude.

From 15 January to 1 May we organize our Winter Residence Rrogram in Sofia , which is with an accent on the research activities.

The specific resources at our disposal for realizing the residency program are:

1. The natural characteristics of our region - Natural Park Lom River – Ruse, with its variety of rare and protected species of plants and animals the specific landscape; Natural Preserve Sreburna- under the protection of UNESCO and various Wetlands zones along the Danube River
2. Stable partnership with the following environmental and research organizations:  National Natural Museum in Sofia; Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB); Association for Bat Research; Park Rusenski Lom; Regional Inspection for the environmental protection; Max Plank Institute for Ornithology , Germany.
3. Concerning the support of the cultural exchange within the framework of the Ruse (Bulgaria) community and its opening up to various forms of contemporary art, we are working with the following municipal institutions of culture in Ruse:
For visual Arts - The Municipal Art Gallery, Ruse Regional Museum of History-Ruse
For film, music, theater and literature: International Society Elias Canetti and the Club of Cultural Workers in the city.

Culture and Energy is an NGO established in 2003 by a group of artists and researchers.

Our goal is to stimulate the researches and creation of art works that encourage the transformation in the way of thinking and attitudes to Nature.

Our activities are open to the investigation of the various levels of the interactions between Culture and Nature, because we believe that Culture is in fact a mutually beneficial cooperation between man and Nature.

Over the years the organization has established a dialogue between artists and researchers, who work in a variety of genres of art and  science.  Culture&Energy NGO is established lasting partnerships with national and regional cultural institutions as well as scientific organizations and those, which work on the preservation of nature.

In 2014 we created the Artist in Residence program. It is open to the artists with specific interest of a projects, exploring the relations and interactions between Art and Nature.
