Createspace is in a recently converted old barn, designed with artists in mind. The open plan studio space has been made for two to three permanent artists and one visiting resident artist with their own living space (kitchen/ lounge, bathroom, mezzanine bedroom), plus access to the adjoining studios. The building itself is warm, bright and modern, and surrounded by nature. This is a versatile contemporary art space made for painters, illustrators, designers, makers, or writers.
The focus of the residency program is to provide artists with the opportunity to be immersed in a fresh creative environment, free from the constraints and distractions of everyday life. They will be surrounded by inspiring landscape the rugged welsh coastline only two miles from the door, beautiful beaches and coves, ancient woodlands, stunning rivers and waterfalls, the Preseli hills, and rolling open countryside. It is a peaceful spot to work and think, the residency providing time and space to allow creative ideas and thought processes to flow. If desired, artists also have the opportunity to run their own workshops or do talks/ demos, there will also be the chance to exhibit work as an individual or in a group show.
The residency fees are £150 per week or £550 per month which covers accommodation and studio space, wifi, and utilities, plus use of bike if requested. For any further information please get in touch through our website or email.

We are an artist run organisation, started in Summer 2018, open to all artists of every race and cultural background. Our aim is to help and support our artists to the best of our abilities through strong communication and adapting to each individuals needs. We will promote artists through our website and social media including any other form we find necessary, helping to form connections where we can (in the local and wider artist community). By providing time and space, sharing skills and knowledge, we hope to enhance the professional development of both our permanent and visiting artists. We will also strive to improve and develop ourselves through our artists and the Res Artis network, being open to suggestions that may help all parties in the future.
The aim of our residency program is not only to help the development of the resident artist as an individual, but also to encourage more artists to the area. With a variety of disciplines, the hope is to grow the contemporary arts scene in West Wales, inspiring local and visiting creatives.
