The residency operates throughout the year. During the period between September to March this region witnesses a pleasant weather. Artist can stay in the studio which has two etching presses, hotplate and aquabox, along with a guest room with attached bathroom and kitchen.

Visiting artist is expected to conduct a short workshop on any art media they like and present their work to local artists and students. At the end of their stay, a small informal exhibition of the work produced at the studio is organized by us.

Through the Chhaap residency program we connect national and international artists to stay and work at the studio for short durations.

Chhaap is a colloquial Indian name for &ldquoImpression&rdquo. Chhaap was established on a cooperative basis in 1999 with a mission to create and promote wider appreciation of original prints and print making techniques.

Chhaap is a non-profit making organization promoted by three Baroda based artists.

Chhaap has well established infrastructure for etching, dry point, lino-cut, woodcut and mono-print. It offers opportunities to artists and printmakers to work in different printmaking media and is frequented by many senior and international artists, art students and printmaking enthusiastic.

Since its inception Chhaap has created print portfolios, conducted workshops on book making, etching, dry-point, mono prints talk and shows by eminent artists, held exhibitions and promoted print making techniques.

Chhaap is now offering space for artists who wish to work in media&rsquos other than print-making as well. We provide space for Cearmic workshop facilities as well (in collaboration with Dragonfly clay studio).
