We give you a distraction-free, and inspiration-rich environment to do extraordinary creative work. Artists, writers and musicians stay here to make use of the studio and enjoy a peaceful escape in the vast countryside, which unravels from our doorstep.
We strongly support creatives who also have ‘day jobs’ or other commitments and encourage them to unblock projects that have otherwise been waylaid by everyday life.
Artists can enjoy use of the vast multi-use studio, tranquil garden and terrace, as well as a small library.
We are an artist-led residency located in a small village in the Lluçanès region of Catalonia, in the village of Oristà. Oristà has a pre-romantic crypt, Roman dig site and ceramics museum. Montserrat, the Catalan sacred mountain and home of the black madonna is one hour away by car.
Residencies are self-led and residential (self-catered). We add structure to the day with daily-led walks and discussions and encourage artists to take part as a way of opening up their ideas. We do not judge, critique or teach – we simply facilitate, listen and encourage. The main contact person is Odette Brady. Odette is the coordinator here, as well as a writer and English teacher.
We can arrange artist-led workshops, especially if they include a nod to Catalan arts or the local area. We can also exhibit work at the end of the residency should the artist wish to conclude with an exhibition.
Our studio has ideal natural light for painting. We have a sink, easels and work table. The studio can also be cleared to create the space for rehearsal and choreography, and has high-quality speakers and video projector.
We can accommodate a maximum of two artists at a time, in private rooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom. We are open from April to October (excluding August).
An old Catalan house in a rural village where artists come to work and think in the peace and quiet. We are a small, intimate setting with a beautiful private garden close to the delights of pristine nature.
