Casa Lü

(00521) 5528911242

The participants live and work together at Casa Lü for four or six weeks. While working on their own projects they are encouraged to visit the galleries and museums. We provide a calendar with exhibition openings and activities so that artists can check out the local art scene. The artists are invited to show their work in a collective exhibition at the end of their stay.

The aim of our residency program is to create a network and dialogue within emerging artists from all over the world.  Just a few metro stops form the city center and museums, this residency is ideal for artists who want to be close to the excitement and art scene of Mexico City.

For our regular residency program there is no fixed deadline. The residency fee covers the costs for accommodation, studio space, calendar with artistic events and exhibitions in Mexico City, slide lectures and talks with other residents and guest artist or curator, group exhibition, opening reception and photos of exhibition.

In the house there are 6 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, garden, two studios and a gallery.

Description of Organisation:

“In Tibetan, the word for body is ‘lü’, which means ‘something you leave behind,’ like baggage. Each time we say ‘lü’, it reminds us that we are only travelers, taking temporary refuge in this life and this body.” Sogyal Rinpoche

Casa Lü is also a place where you can take temporary refuge. Live, create and exchange within emerging artists from all over the world.
