Curators&rsquo Agenda: VIENNA 2018 (C&rsquoA) aims to answer your specific professional aspirations and to provide you with unique first-hand curatorial experience during a 6-week residency program in Vienna.

– a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration with representatives of the Viennese contemporary art community
– opportunities for individual knowledge expansion and interpersonal connections
– a unique opportunity for implementing the &ldquolessons learned&rdquo by organising of a mutual group show
For whom is the C&rsquoA designed?
Emerging curators from all around the globe, who seek to discover the Viennese contemporary art scene in-depth and to gain practical experience in curating.
Talks, lectures, studio visits, meetings with curators and cultural educators from leading institutions, off-spaces as well as with freelance operators and entrepreneurs in the field of contemporary art.
By organising a mutual group exhibition with students from the University of Applied Arts Vienna as the final part of the program, the C?A participants will also be provided with know-how modules and workshops related to exhibition management and production.
The participants will receive the certificate of the C?A program completion after finishing the residency.Տ
Up to 10 applicants will be selected to take part in the C&rsquoA program. Working language is English.

C&rsquoA program fee:
The cost of the program is EUR 1150.
The registration fee is additional EUR 50.

– entry fees for museums and other special events
– workshops and lectures
– production costs of the group exhibitionՏ
– accommodation costs will be partly compensated for each participant for a maximum amount of EUR 500
– travelling costs will be partly compensated for each participant for an amount of up to EUR 250
– local cell phone cardsՏ

Selected participants should make a payment in advance, no later than 15. July 2018. In case of cancellation, all fees are non-refundable.Տ

BLOCKFREI is an independent cultural organization founded in 2013 in Vienna. It is conceived as a platform for innovative cultural praxis with the goal to support the co-operation between cultural groups from Austria and other countries around the globe, with a special emphasis on South-Eastern Europe. Furthermore, considering that national groups from the mentioned region form a significant part of the Austrian society today and the great importance of the current and future interaction between the two, BLOCKFREI is aiming to contribute to the higher visibility of immigrant cultural and art production which is undoubtedly embedding itself into Austrian cultural landscape.
After successfully carrying out projects Curators? Agenda: VIENNA (2017, 1016, 2015) and Curator?s Connection (2013), BLOCKFREI is announcing a new open call for the fifth edition of the program Curators? Agenda: VIENNA 2018, a six-week curators-in-residence program. Envisioned as an intensive residency for international, emerging curators from all around the globe, the program is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of the contemporary Viennese art scene, as well as to establish a network among its partakers.
