BELGRADE ART STUDIO invites artists, curators, writer and researchers from around the world to apply online for a residency in this extraordinary city. Different forms of art are welcome to the artist residency, to explore the arts in Belgrade, Serbia’s most vibrant city: painting, drawing, photography, music, filmmaking, video art, writing, conceptual art and research. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged.
Art studio is open year-round, providing artists / writers /curators / creative practitioners / researchers / scholars / thinkers with much-needed space and time to work on a project of their choice.
Over the last 5 years, BELGRADE ART STUDIO has grown to become one of the largest international artists’ and writers’ residency program in Serbia. Our mission is to nurture the arts by offering creative individuals of the highest talent an inspiring environment in which they can produce enduring works of the imagination.
Our RESIDENCY aims to contribute in a significant manner to the cultural and artistic development of Belgrade. Artists will benefit from their exposure to an international public and it is hoped that the artist residency will serve as an open door to the world, a permanent invitation to engage in cultural exchange’ we foster dialogue with the Belgrade communities through workshops, performances, exhibitions, Open Studio Days and more.

BELGRADE ART STUDIO RESIDENCY is a non-profit international art program designed to bring talented artists, creative practitioners, researchers and writers from around the world to experience a unique cultural environment dedicated to art. Selected artists are invited to live and work in specially designed studio for a period up to 6 months. By bringing the creators of art in a unique setting the Program aims to situate art at the very heart of historical Belgrade.

    Do you provide the residents with any funds associated with the residency? (e.g. stipend, fellowship, production allowance): Yes
    If yes, what is the amount of the fund? (in your local currency): FELLOWSHIPWe offer one fellowships per year to artists and creatives of outstanding talent. A fellowship covers the full cost of Belgrade Art Studio residency for a week. (travel not included).Portfolios and manuscripts are reviewed by a panel of professionals. Applicants will be notified as to the status of their applications 3 weeks after their application. Only artists who have completed the financial assistance section of the online application will be considered for fellowship. You must submit this information at the time of application.FINANCIAL AID PACKAGEOur financial aid package cover up to a maximum of 50% of the cost of a residency (the total amount of our aid packages varies based on a combination of merit, need, and time of year the maximum aid is more readily available for residencies scheduled between November and April). Only artists who have completed the financial assistance section of the online application will be considered for financial aid package. You must submit this information at the time of application.
