Artists in an Olivegarden residency in France offers an idyllic and quiet retreat in an old and renovated  charming farmhouse near the old town of Arles.

Arles has become an insider Arts hotspot in recent years, hosting events such as ”Les rencontres de la Photographie”, exciting cultural and musical festivals, museums, galleries and the ”Parc des Ateliers”.

Artists in an Olivegarden in Arles (F) has been created for international artists who are looking to produce new work, to write, curate and/or conduct arts-research. It will give artists time, space, freedom and inspiration to explore their ideas in a quite neighborhood inside a beautiful olive garden setting with loads of place to create and reflect.

It brings together contemporary artists, curators and researchers from around the world together to live and work together for a short while and have the opportunity to be inspired by each other and network.

Artist in an Olivegarden is an independent artist in residence, non-profit association in F-Arles, co-founded by Arts Atrium Switzerland. Arts Atrium has been supporting the development of independent artists since 2009, by providing workspaces and opportunities for Contemporary Artists and Writers in changing places, once on a hill, before in a store, now placed in an Olivegarden.

    Nearest Train Station: Arles Station Centrale
    How to reach by plane: Flight to Marseille, Nimes, Montpellier or Nice. Then again with train via Vitrolles (from Marseille) and train or buses to Arles. A taxi will be approximately 18 Euro.
    How to reach by train: Train to Avignon TGV Station, then either Bus or Train to Arles Station Central. Or direct Train from Paris to Arles. The residency is 6 km away from the Trainstation in Arles in Gimeaux (rural). A taxi will be approximately 18 Euro.
    How to reach by car: Parking at the residency. If you have no car: Rent a bike, motorcycle or a car for the time that you are in the residency. Walking from the residency to the old part of Arles will be 50 minutes. Bicycle Rent is possible at the residency.
