We are a music-and-sound artistic residence, based on a flexible structure program, where participants set their own objectives and working methodology, while the hosts provide spaces, tools, links and accompaniment in the territory.

Participant projects can include composition, musical and sound production, non-conventional practices, experimentation with other disciplines, research, academic meetings, exhibitions, concerts, etc.

Objective:

To foster the meeting of the wide cultural, musical and sound diversity of Ecuador with creative proposals from other regions of the world.

Addressed for:

– Creators, researchers, music producers and other agents from the music and sound arts.

– Artists and other creative professionals, interested in exploring and dialoging with music and sound arts.

Description of Organisation:

We are a multidisciplinary group working on cultural management and artistic production. Our projects have received national and international recognition: – Prize for the Residence and Cultural Exchange 2009, Ministry of Culture of Ecuador. – Black Rock Arts Foundation Grantee, USA, 2011. We design and manage artistic projects: conceptualization, production, circulation, promotion, dissemination. We are interested in collaborative processes, linking cultural action with communities in territory: research, cultural mediation, management, evaluation of cultural projects. Our team is made up of professionals from the creative and cultural sector: architecture, design, music, audiovisual, performing arts, communication, management. We understand culture as the symbolic universe on which a society is built through complex interactions and materialization. On the other hand, we see culture as a productive and educational pillar, capable of boosting territories, strengthening its social memory and promoting its creativity and cultural heritage.

If yes, what is the amount of the fund? (in your local currency): Our first international call offered scholarships that aloud some artists to participate in our program with no cost. All scholarships for 2018 are already granted.We plan to have new calls for scholarships in the future, although, residence costs is low, considering the services and experience we offer: – housing, shared with other resident artists- music production basic studio- equipped rehearsal room- links to local professionals, institutions and organizations- local exhibition opportunities- technical and strategical support in the development of collaborative projects with local partners
