Alchemy Artist Residency

416 616 9940

Alchemy is a 8- 12 day residency devoted to the exploration of the synergy between artistic practice and the cooking and sharing of locally cultivated food in a community setting. Participants will have the opportunity to launch, continue individual or collaborative work in a variety of mediums (visual arts, sculpture, photography, performance art, writing or video) inspired by their surroundings and shared at the end of the residency. Immersing themselves in their own practice during the lush growing season, residents will also contribute their culinary creativity to lively salon-style communal dinners. Shared Menus will be based on the Group’s appetite for preparing what is available locally. There will be readings and discussions about the creative intersection of food and art, and guest talks will help us better understand the magic and inspiration created by making and sharing art and food
