Name of Residency: 3Piedras

With our temporary residence of artists we propose a space of gathering place and artistic creation facilitated by the calm, internal and external, that surrounds us when being in contact with nature. This space will become a source of inspiration for artistic creation, permeable to the exchange of experiences and emotions among all the people of this environment, artists and residents.

3piedras opens its doors to the creative and the artistic, and gives artists the opportunity to create their works, immersed in nature, letting their imagination fly freely, in order to carry out contemporary art projects, in any discipline and with thematic related to the rural and the nature environment. One of the objectives of the project to which we aspire is to build knowledge about the problems and challenges facing today’s society and how from art in synergy with other disciplines can be made and find proposals, solutions, actions …, and therefore achieving some kind of impact on these contemporary challenges.

This rural area is located on the banks of the Abena stream, immersed in the heart of the Oscen Pyrenees and integrated into Ara, a small rural town in the Jacetania region. Ara maintains its population and customs in an increasingly unpopulated rural environment, in a landscape molded by the scrubland and the forest that alternate with crops of cereals, potatoes and wheat.
