Laith McGregor’s exhibition Everyday Studio.
“This project began when I would look after my son during his nap times while travelling on various artist residencies around the world. Everyday for an hour, I’d draw meticulous watercolour renderings of hundreds, if not thousands of faces. Over a three-year period, in several different countries the project evolved into this!”
Everyday Studio is a project aimed to raise funds to facilitate the build of a new studio space for artist Laith McGregor, that will also act as a creative hub for local practitioners. It is hoped the bespoke workspace designed by Melbourne architect Murray Barker will create a vibrant arts-loving community in the rural Australian location of Byron Bay.
The exhibition features 52 works on paper and 1 large-scale painting completed in various studio residencies, including most recently at Res Artis member the Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP), generously supported by the Australia Council for the Arts.
McGregor’s Everyday Studio exhibition will launch his crowd-funding campaign through Pozible.
